Botany for Beekeepers – Planting a Bee Friendly Garden

The first event in our winter programme took place on Thursday 21st November in Elgin library.

Tony Harris gave an interesting presentation on botany and the interaction between a variety of plants and the pollinators that ensure their success. These included honeybees, solitary bees and bumble bees. It also included some snippets of information that will prove to be useful for Module 2 of the SBA exam syllabus!

Thanks to Tony and everyone who provided the refreshments and raffle prizes.

Our next event is the A.G.M. on Tuesday the 28th January 2014.
